Faruk Abu-Chacra I should like to express my sincere condolences on this anniversary of the horrible assassination of the close friend of my youth friend Fouad Abi Najm, and 26 others including the new elected president of Lebanon, Bachir Jumaiel. This tragedy event occured on the 14th of September 1982 when a bomb exploded in the Beirut Phalange headquarters. My friend Fouad Abi Najm has remained in my mind from the time I left Lebanon in 1959. Although we had quite different political views, but his charisma, sympathy and powers of reasonable argumentation made me and others respect him and his ‘Party Pin’ which he always carried on his left chest. The incident was a disaster and a great loss not only for the victims’ families but also for the whole country of our beloved Lebanon. I repeat my sincere condolences to all of their family members and God bless them all.
